Old Business—Confirmation of the Seminarians Picnic on August 13, 2019, at the Parish Center. Ivan will check to see when and where the Mass will be celebrated. Sue will write invitations, contact Bishop Lucas, and call the Hilltop Café to have them cater the dinner.
Bob Campney—Reported that he will not be the district governor any more because he plans to take a national position. Bill Stull will be the district governor.
Bob installed all the officers:
President-- Ivan Van Dyke
VP Vocations—Pat Schmit
Secretary—Mary Van Dyke
VP Programs—David Lux
VP Communications—Sandy Moser
Chaplain—Rv. Ross Burkhalter
Bob continued to give us a pep talk on recruiting new members; telling uss that all clubs have the same issues and encouraging us to go first to previous members, have interesting programs, and everyone should try to invite someone new. He encouraged us to think outside the box. We could go to the USA site for ideas in the “program section.” He suggested utilizing the Benedictine Sisters and Sister Roseanne Ocken in particular.
New Business—The gavel was turned over to Ivan Van Dyke and he presided over the rest of the meeting.
Father Ross mentioned that he will celebrate his 25th anniversary as a priest.
He said he may have to step down from his position as our chaplain because he is always scheduled for the 5:30 PM mass and that necessitates speeding to get here by 7:00 PM. It also means that he is celebrating three masses that day and the priests really aren’t supposed to have three masses in one day. He suggested we start looking for a new chaplain.
Marilyn Kathol expressed gratitude to Father Ross for his service and will ask Father Scott if he will consider taking over as chaplain.
Mary Van Dyke presented information about the book, A Living Sacrifice: Guidance for Men Discerning Religious Life, written by Fr. Benedict Croell, O.P. and Fr. Andrew Hofer, O.P, which is recommended by Serra International. Ivan said he would buy the book and Mary will present it to the club for consideration.
A schedule was passed around for bringing food for future meetings.

August 13th will be the Seminarians’ picnic—everyone is to bring salads and desserts.
September is the Sister’s Luncheon and the menu is to be planned later.
